Tribo de Jah and Tiken Jah Fakoly own the night at the launch of "Guerreiros da Tribo"! Check it out!

On December 13, Directv Music Hall in São Paulo had the privilege of being the setting for the launch of Tribo de Jah's newest work, "Guerreiros da Tribo". Of course, for an event of this magnitude, Tribo would not be alone, and the event featured two of the best names in national reggae today: Reggae Style and Dagô & RadicalRoots. To complete the lineup, the gathering also brought the revelation of African reggae, Tiken Jah Fakoly. With the show already fully planned, at approximately 10:30 pm, Reggae Style takes the stage.

REGGAE STYLE
They put on a great performance. Still riding the wave of their latest release, "Em Meio ao Caos", Reggae Style has long had a guaranteed place among the best of national roots reggae, and these shows they have been performing only tend to solidify that standing. Carlos Dread (photo) is a strong presence, and gets the audience to follow him easily through the band's conscious lyrics. With no time to breathe, Dagô takes over responsibility on the show.DAGÔ MIRANDA & RADICAL ROOTS
RadicalRoots ready to go, and the heavy tracks start rolling freely. Even some Reggae Style members such as Carlos Dread and Junior Black Style participate in the excellent performance playing guitar and percussion respectively (photo). Praising Dagô's shows and competence has become redundant. The band has been impressing new reggae ears tremendously. On the road since 1991, Dagô is finally more accessible to showcase his work, and in recent shows, everyone already knows the band's beautiful songs, such as "Dreadlock", "Ser Feliz" and "Principal". Always with impeccable posture, Dagô (photo) shows very evident humility, making the crowd join even more in the great positive vibe of the venue. Now it's the hosts of the night's turn to do the honors.TRIBO DE JAH
Tribo de Jah invades the stage. "Reféns da Violência" opens the sequence of heavy tracks of the night. Without sparing the classics, Tribo keeps making many people emotional, such is the competence and love this band has for passing on its message. "Não Basta ser Rasta" and "Regueiros Guerreiros" could not be missing. A song that always kills it with the thousands of voices present is "Chama", and with Fauzi Beydoun on the microphones, the crowd is always following along (video).TIKEN JAH FAKOLY
For a more than special appearance, Tiken Jah Fakoly takes the stage (photo). With Tribo de Jah backing him, Tiken Jah, a Muslim from the Dioula ethnic group, steals the scene for a few moments. Launching his new work, "FrançAfrique", the singer surprises everyone who did not know such a jewel of Roots Reggae. Tiken Jah, like Dagô Miranda, has been on the road since 1991, and "FrançAfrique", first album on the French label Barclay (BMG), features none other than U-Roy, Anthony B, among others, as "small" guest appearances. Songs like "FrançAfrique", "Soungourouba" and "Missiri" (video), made clear the firepower of Tiken Jah Fakoly. Bands like Tiken Jah, Midnite, Nasio Fontaine, etc., are making it clearer than ever that Roots Rock Reggae is alive, and very much so. After his striking performance, Fauzi returns with his Tribo to deliver the new songs.GUERREIROS DA TRIBO
"Guerreiros da Tribo" brings impressive percussion, and the big request, "Neguinho Babaçu", has such a heavy bass line that live your skeletal structure actually shakes. Another beautiful heavy track from the CD is "Me Satisfaz a Alma (Satisfy my soul)", already sung with great fervor by the fans. For those who love the classics, "Ruínas da Babilônia" was also on the set list, and if the weight of Tribo de Jah's compositions wasn't enough, "Bongo Red (Mix Up)" by the Gladiators was performed with mastery. Anyone who could attend this show easily realized that the new album "Guerreiros da Tribo" came to further consolidate Tribo de Jah as Brazil's main reggae band, and ensure long life to the boys from Maranhão (photo).EVENT IMAGES
