Michael Rose resolves differences with Duckie Simpson and returns to Black Uhuru!

After 20 years away, singer Michael Rose marks his return to Black Uhuru. Group founder Duckie Simpson said he and Rose recently met to settle their "differences". Result: they are ready to work together again. He also said a press conference will be held soon, officially announcing Rose's return to the band.
Michael Rose, 48, left Black Uhuru in 1984 after a serious clash with Simpson; Black Uhuru went on to win a Grammy for Best Reggae Album, but with Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare on production, the band led by Simpson, Rose and Sandra "Puma" Jones rose from obscurity to international fame with albums such as "Sinsemilla" and "Red", and classics like "General Penitentiary", "Shine Eye Gal", "Plastic Smile" and "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner".
After Rose's departure, Simpson recruited Junior Reid as his linking vocalist. He stayed for two albums. Before that, Garth Dennis and Don Carlos also participated, but like Junior Reid, differences with Duckie Simpson spoke louder. Three years later, another vocalist joined Black Uhuru: Andrew Bees. He worked with the group on the album "Dynasty", the last from Uhuru.
Simpson says he has been forging "his own path" since the end of last year. Throughout the 90s, Black Uhuru continued to perform several excellent shows in the United States and Europe, and even earned another Grammy nomination before the "Anthem" album of 1983. Now with the group in its best lineup, we will probably have great and pleasant surprises and, who knows, a visit to Brazil, since big names like Culture, Alpha Blondy, Midnite and Peter Broggs have appeared with great success.
