Mystical Roots is a band that has just conquered Brazil with its song "Prás Bandas de Lá" as part of the soundtrack of the soap opera "Da cor do pecado" (Rede Globo). A fusion of genuine root Reggae, popular rhythms and Maranhense folk music with a touch of diverse influences. The song "Prás Bandas de Lá" won over the youth of our country with its Brazilian swing. The band is one of the pioneers of Dub in the country, including six versions of this musical genre on its debut album. The repertoire consists of original songs, showing the band's proposal to break with some clichés of the Reggae movement. Without wanting to politicize anyone, the lyrics simply signal a connection with the rescue of friendship, the value of unity and the search for inner peace without dogmas. Starting in March 2004, the band became a quartet due to the departure of vocalist Luciana Simões and drummer Giuliano de Laurenza. The two cite personal differences and insurmountable musical differences for the good functioning of the group. Luciana is preparing her solo album of Brazilian music mixed with black and electronic music, and is also on tour with Natiruts. Giuliano continues with his instrumental DUB band called Cofre Galático. Because of this, Mystical Roots presents a completely renewed show with new stage direction and new repertoire. It continues performing shows throughout Brazil, appearing this month in Jundiaí and Vinhedo at the Reggae Festival. The band is a representative of this new face of the Cultural Industry, 100% independent. After conquering the Brazilian capital of Reggae, São Luís do Maranhão, selling out shows and gaining popularity through the media (TV, radio and newspapers), Mystical Roots came to São Paulo in 1999 to merge its movement amid the cultural diversity of the city, and in this way achieve national projection. Joining local musicians who contributed even more to the group's sonic diversity, it participated in genre festivals throughout Brazil: Maranhão Roots Reggae Festival, Festival Capixaba de Reggae, Festival de Reggae de Itacaré, also performing at various venues in the interior and Greater São Paulo and other capitals: Fortaleza, Salvador, Belém, João Pessoa, Curitiba etc... This entire trajectory culminated in the band's first CD.
