Four members and two assistants of the reggae band Natiruts were arrested this Sunday, in Goiânia, shortly after holding a show in that city, on charges of drug possession and condoning drug use. During the performance, the band's lead singer - Alexandre Carlo, also detained - was informed that there were military police infiltrated in the audience and alerted the public to their presence.

The group was released after spending around five hours at the State Narcotics Police Station, where they gave a statement, and will face trial in freedom. According to the police, the band members consumed marijuana in the dressing room before going on stage and, in addition to carrying an unknown quantity of the drug, they were also carrying pills that will be analyzed by police experts.

According to GloboNews, another 26 people who attended the show were also arrested for drug possession and released after testifying. Upon leaving the police station, Alexandre stated that he was calm and "didn't feel like a criminal." The detained Natiruts members will have to attend a hearing in the capital of Goiás, with a date yet to be defined. They will be prosecuted for possession of narcotics.
