Undeniably, Natiruts' path is not just another beautiful story of success and victory, but a major landmark in history when it comes to Brazilian reggae. Doubt it? Try to remember a sold-out Credicard Hall, where every person present sang fervently lyric by lyric. It could only be Natiruts... the band that plays, with great respect, from the Underground public to the Media and everything around it. Want more? How about "tickets sold out 15 days before the performance"? As I said at the beginning of the article... it is undeniable. As if the excellent audience were not enough, the presentation was especially for the DVD recording. Before the show began, the night of September 1 at Credicard Hall became an authentic DUB party, where the lights were completely turned off and roots reggae punished the venue's speakers with the imposing bass low end.
What normally happens in CD or DVD recording shows are those famous lines to the audience: "Let's get moving"... "Let's give it our best", or things like that. Natiruts only needed to step onto the stage and play the first notes of "Não Chore meu Amor" for a strong chorus of 7 thousand voices to sing the entire song uninterruptedly until the end.
Detail: this song is from Natiruts' latest work, "Nossa Missão", from which we can get a good idea of what happened when band classics such as "Liberdade pra Dentro da Cabeça" or "Meu Reggae é Roots" were performed. A resounding success! Making a true journey through the best songs across the 5 albums released, two extremes must be highlighted: the energy of "Surfista do Lago Paranoá" from the 1st album, when the band was still called Nativus, and the militant lyrics of "Quem Planta Preconceito" from the latest release "Nossa Missão", showing all the band's versatility. Near the end of the show, Alexandre starts "Waiting in Vain" by Bob Marley. Congratulations to Natiruts and its team, because they knew how to maintain quality in their compositions and, above all, maintain a close bond with their fans.
Now, on 02/09/2006, it is Surforeggae's turn to take this super show to Bragança Paulista, in the interior of São Paulo. It is Surforeggae Festival 2006, a party that promises a lot!
