“On our eternal great cultural stage from Circo Voador to Reggae Brasil Produções, a rasta super team came together to celebrate twenty years of the birth of the reggae movement in our wonderful city.” Da Gama – Cidade Negra Rio de Janeiro has more in common with Jamaica than tropical weather and lush beaches. In Rio de Janeiro, names like Cidade Negra, Vell Rangel, Negril, Ras Bernardo and other reggae bandits emerged that narrowed the distance between the Caribbean island and the wonderful city. And to mark two decades of this reggae production in Rio de Janeiro, Circo Voador and Reggae Brasil Produções will hold a party to celebrate twenty years of reggae in Rio, on October 31, 2006, Tuesday, starting at 9 pm. An event that promises to unite reggae lovers of all times, from those who saw Cidade Negra's first shows in Baixada to passionate fans of regueiro on the southern beaches, Armandinho. Therefore, there was the work of putting together a fantastic team for tonight composed of Edu Ribeiro, Banda Suburbanda , Armandinho, Dom Luis Rasta , Evandro Mesquita, Vell Rangel , AfroReggae, Helio Bentes( vocalist of Ponto de Equilibrio), Alexandre, André Dejrizans and Fauzi of Tribo de Jah. In other words, there are no dreads that will stay put. Even more so with the club always full of good vibes from DJs Tekko Rastafari and Fernando Costa. A night to dance in which we can justify the passion for music that drives surfers, skaters, samba players, rockers and everyone who has reggae as a philosophy, a reference for struggle and spirituality.
