One year without Geraldo Carvalho! Download Alpha Blondy's tribute to the eternal "Reggae Booster"!

On July 31, 2007, we completed one year without the great Geraldo Carvalho, one of the greatest promoters and driving forces that Reggae has ever had in Brazil. That is also how the world's greatest Reggae collector, and one of the most respected figures on the international scene, Roger Stephens, described him: "Geraldo, the #1 Reggae booster in Brazil," something like "Geraldo, the number 1 driver of Reggae in Brazil". Because he was a close friend to everyone and was always in high spirits, Geraldo earned the respect of many national and international musicians and producers, becoming one of those responsible for the growth of Reggae in the country, having worked with names such as Joe Higgs, The Wailers, Steel Pulse, Clinton Fearon, Don Carlos, Israel Vibration, Fully Fullwood Band, Yellowman, Gregory Isaacs, Stanley Beckford, Peter Tosh, Andrew Tosh, Burning Spear, Gladiators, Culture, Justin Hinds, The Itals, Alpha Blondy, among many others I could spend hours talking about here. And speaking of Alpha Blondy, the singer who is one of the greatest names in African Reggae of all time made a song called "Bahia", in tribute to Geraldo, which will be on his new album. On this track, Alpha sings a few phrases in Portuguese, words passed on by Geraldo such as "Bahia sangue bom" and "Bahia de todos os santos", Bahia having been a shared passion for both of them. Fortunately, the seed he planted is already bearing fruit, and Reggae has been growing more and more in Brazil. If it depends on us, his friends, he and everything that was done will never be forgotten; quite the opposite, we will do everything to continue the revolution that was started. This is our tribute to a person who always deserved and will continue to deserve our MAXIMUM RESPECT. "Big Up, Geraldo" !
