A decade of DJing dedicated to national Reggae! Meet Vibration Sound!

On February 16, 2008, VIBRATION SOUND, led by DJ Andrezinho, celebrates 10 years of discotheque by São Luís and Brazil. Moving the main bars and events in the capital, VIBRATION conquered a faithful audience, making it a consumer of the newest reggae movement in Brazil, the reggae Nacional. So on Saturday of his birthday, February 16, DJ Andrezinho Vibration will be accompanied by the Sons of Jah Band and also by Cantor Mário Soul of the band ALMA NEGRA of Fortaleza-CE. The event will take place at NELSON BAR on the Coastal Avenue in São Luís do Maranhão. The bar is also completing 10 years of reggae, where it receives an audience in search of quality root.

“Get in the mood and Crazy Pira Pira!” The phrase is the main brand of DJ Andrezinho Vibration from São Luís in Maranhão, is the only reggae discotheque dedicated to ROOTS CONTEMPORARY, ROCK STEADY and NATIONAL REGGAE. Ten years ago on the nights of São Luís, DJ Andrezinho Vibration has made the successes of many alternative houses like: TOMBO DA LADEIRA, BAR DO NELSON, CREOLE BAR, TRAPICHE, MAMA AFRICA, ARMAZÉM, CHEZ MOI and many others who for years gathered the most diverse generations in search of a quality reggae. “The old Tombo da Ladeira, which was on a street in the historic center of São Luís, used to gather about 3,000 people on a Wednesday night, was when the success of VIBRATION began,” Andrezinho says. And from the beginning, one of the great differences of Vibration's discotheque is precisely the great support it has given to the Marian Bands and especially to the revelation groups in Brazil and other countries. DJ ANDREZINHO VIBRATION's discotheque lasted 4 years on Tombo da Ladeira. Along with the nights of reviving, VIBRATION also appeared on Saturdays at the NELSON BAR on the Coastal Avenue in São Luís. It is also worth noting the CREOLE BAR in Ponta da Areia, where bands were revealed on the national scene as MYSTICAL ROOTS and also the MANO BANTU of the consecrated Gerson da Conceição who continues to make his career in São Paulo. “The bands go away even, looking for other states to promote their songs, I realize that we still have few incentives, especially from local radios, which I think should play more reggae maranhense” protests andrezinho. In these 10 years, the priority has always been to disseminate the national reggae, especially the one produced in the capital, such as BANDA LEGENDA, JAH'S CHILDREN and the new year of the year TWO PRETOS. In the last four years Vibration has also been dedicated to reggaes produced in other states, which has captivated even more the Marian public and the reflection of this work was the production of great shows.

NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL SHOWS

But DJ Andrezinho's participation in the Brazilian reggae scenario goes beyond the Maranhense borders. He was with his discotheque in SÃO PAULO (SP) and SALVADOR (BA). In São Luís, with the root reggae movement consolidated by the insistent performance of VIBRATION SOUND, DJ Andrezinho opened great shows as the National PLANTA AND RAIZ de São Paulo with special participation of the singer ANDREAD JÓ de Fortaleza in Ceará, and also the band NATIRUTS of Brasília that twice in Maranhão had the presence of VIBRATION. Other groups that DJ Andrezinho accompanied were CAPITAL REGGAE and MATO SECO, from São Paulo. And JAH'S TRIB. Internationally renowned bands, recognized and admired all over the world stepped on São Luís with the opening of the discotheque of VIBRATION SOUND, singers such as ALPHA BLONDY, ZEMA, ISRAEL VIBRATION and I JAH MAN; and renowned bands such as THE GLADIATORS, THE MIGHTY DIAMONDS; groups that recognized DJ as one of the most developed artists on stage. DJ Andrezinho analyzes the moment of production that São Luís, considered the Brazilian Jamaica, is living. “It’s a shame we had a fall in local productions, the public is discredited because of the sequence of canceled shows in 2007. The producers risked a lot without being able to count on the local businessman who also cannot see the potential repo of São Luís. On the other hand this same audience is looking forward to new events dedicated to reggae.”

DRAFT FOR 2008

This year, the priority for DJ Andrezinho Vibration is to work a quality discotheque. But independent projects are being produced. And a great goal is to take Vibration to other Brazilian states, inserting DJ Andrezinho in a national circuit. Another project of Vibration is the creation of the site, with news from reggae maranhense, information about parties, bars and bands, as well as photos of the main events held by DJ Andrezinho.
