Jamaican government compares sprinter Usain Bolt to icons Bob Marley and Marcus Garvey!
For Sports Minister, the sprinter will also become an icon of the country like the reggae singer and composer and the black movement activist. For Minister of Sports, Usain Bolt became one of the heroes in the history of Jamaica. Olivia Grange, in a note published on the country's official government website this Wednesday, stated that the sprinter Usain Bolt entered the list of great Jamaican citizens. According to the minister, the feat accomplished by Bolt at the Beijing Olympic Games, where he won gold medals in the 100m and 200m sprints, breaking the world record for both events, is comparable to the work of the black nationalist movement activist, Marcus Garvey, and the reggae icon singer-songwriter, Bob Marley. - Usain became one of our greatest heroes, taking the Jamaica name to billions of people around the world. He not only led our athletes to the top of the media, but raised the recognition of Jamaican culture throughout the world - highlights Olivia Grange. For her, everyone at Jamaica expected something special from Bolt during these Games, but what he did went beyond expectations. Olivia adds that the sprinter's story will be told in schools across the country and that it has become part of Jamaican folklore. In addition to the minister, opponents and even former champions never stop praising the phenomenon, Bolt. Below are the weighty declarations:

COMPLIMENTS FROM "GREAT PEOPLE"

"He's Superman 2. When he started that quickly, I couldn't help but say, 'Wow!'. It was a much better start than the one he made in the 100m and the turn he made afterwards was absolutely fantastic!"   Michael Johnson - USA (Four Olympic gold medals and nine-time world athletics champion).
"He's the best. I'm sure he could have been faster. Nobody can beat him. If I had been second in the 100m, I would have been very happy"   Asafa Powell - JAMAICA (He was the only man in the world to run the 100 meters under 10 seconds in 2005, until Usain Bolt arrived).
"Nobody can get even close to him. The dynamics of the races are him in front and everyone running behind. He's already an athletics legend. The guy is a phenomenal athlete. He's a freak of nature"   Darvis Patton - USA (Last placed in the 100m final)
"I'm happy to know that he's from Jamaica and that he's supernatural"   Melanie Walker - JAMAICA (Gold medalist in the 400m hurdles at the Beijing Olympics).
