After scoring many successes in their career, having been one of the biggest Reggae revelations in the country in recent years and having participated in several major festivals, the band Planta e Raiz is celebrating 10 years in style. The group's evolution from its beginnings to today is quite remarkable, which can be proven by the large number of shows and number of fans that Planta continues to conquer. In 1998, Zeider combined his gogó with Fernandinho's guitar and Samambaia's bass and "took" some songs from Bob Marley and the like to present at Feira da Vila Madalena. The initiative was successful, the trio became a sextet (with the addition of Franja on solo guitar, Cuio on drums and Juliano on percussion) and within two years they entered the studio to record their debut, the EP "Que Brota da Terra". The definition is reggae, but the difference (since every great artist has one) is the format they decided to package it in. They drank from the source and included doses of artists such as Santana, Gilberto Gil and shaped the product of Jamaican rhythm with a more sentimental appeal and lyrics that invite us to see the sunny side of life, as well as the daily life of big cities. Their first independent album sold 15 thousand copies and allowed them to play with icons such as Gregory Isaacs, The Wailers, Culture, Natiruts, Tribo de Jah, among others. THE BIG CELEBRATION

The group, which released the album "Qual é a cara do ladrão?" at the end of 2007 , is preparing for the big party that will mark the careers and lives of all the members. As it is a special event, the guests are also special: the band Ponto de Equilíbrio, who has just returned from a tour of Europe, will be part of the entire celebration. Friday, September 12th will be a remarkable day. Also in celebration of Planta e Raiz's 10th anniversary, the group will be offering Surforeggae visitors, through a raffle, an MP4 and a surfboard from VLCS, official sponsor of Planta e Raiz.
