Dominic and his band are from Santa Barbara, California (USA), and perhaps for that reason his sound recalls in some ways that of the defunct Californian band Sublime. His music manages to please everyone from the most traditionalist dreadlocks to the "preppy girl" who loves rave... from the most music-obsessed to the most laid-back. His lyrics are also very good; it's worth making the effort to translate them because they carry beautiful messages.
His first album "Public Announcement" truly comes to announce a lot. First: a new artist in the Reggae scene, a young blond white dreadlock with plenty of attitude. Another announcement: reggae is not dead, but continues to develop and converse with contemporary musical influences. Dominic shows naturally how Jah's rhythm can flirt with scratches, Hip Hop vocals and Rock'n'Roll guitars, added to the music in just the right measure, neither more nor less, with great taste.

Ragga vocals that appear during some tracks recall a bit the rhyme line of the Jewish-American Matisyahu, showing that this too can be an influence on Dominic Balli's sound. It's hard on this album to pick a best track, but one of the highlights is certainly "Warrior", which you can see in the clip below:
