Feature film depicts Brasília's periphery and has Alexandre from Natiruts as lead character!

Brasília will invade the Rio Festival beach on Sunday, October 3, at 5:15 p.m., when the national premiere of O Galinha Preta takes place, the first feature film by director and screenwriter Cibele Amaral. The Federal District is practically a character in the film, and its outskirts, an area rarely portrayed in cinema, is revealed in this action comedy with plenty of humor, inspired by heist films. O Galinha Preta also has screenings on the 5th (Tuesday – Estação Vivo Gávea), 6th (Wednesday – Ponto Cine) and 7/10 (Thursday – Cinema Nosso). The story takes place mostly in the satellite city of Brazlândia, with local residents as extras, and features a cast and crew genuinely formed in Brasília, with the exception of national brega king Falcão, who makes a very special appearance as Rick de Souza, a successful evangelical singer. The main roles are played by Alexandre Carlo of Natiruts (O Galinha Preta), Jovane Nunes of the comedy company Os Melhores do Mundo and Zorra Total, André Deca, actor in the nationally successful theater comedy "Como passar em concurso público", Lauro Montana and Alessandro Santos, Grupo G7 and Babalorixá Ronaldo D'Oxum. The production also includes more reggae representatives. The band A Tropa recorded part of the soundtrack exclusively for the film.

THE FILM

"O Galinha Preta" tells the story of a group of friends who decide to pull the heist that will change their lives forever — robbing an evangelical church! The action will take place on the day of the presentation by the famous gospel singer Rick de Souza, an eagerly awaited attraction for the faithful that will certainly increase the Church's collection. The group is made up of Galinha Preta and Lapão, underemployed youths from the outskirts who dream of living in Salvador and opening a small business by the sea; Jerônimo, the group's intellectual mentor; Nildinha, an evangelical nightclub dancer, and Japonês, the getaway driver, a very friendly chubby guy who loves national Rap and loves to eat! Cibele Amaral has participated in various short and feature films as director, screenwriter and producer. The direction of her first feature is preceded by that of the award-winning short "Momento Trágico", which won 17 prizes in Brazil (including best film and best direction at the Gramado festival and the popular jury prize three times at the Gramado, Brasília and Curta Cinema - RJ festivals) and abroad.
