Through big names like Bob Marley, pioneer and the biggest representative of reggae in the world, the success of the style was consolidated and every day it gains more respect. The power to capture crowds and messages of peace, love and unity make reggae an important tool for information, education and opinion, not only for young people, but also reaching other age groups.
A series of documentaries for TV is being produced, called "Reggae na Estrada", where music takes shape, gains image, overcomes limits and barriers and hits the road, with the guiding thread of this entire story. Conducted by Helio Bentes, singer of the reggae band Ponto de Equilíbrio, "Reggae na Estrada" is scheduled to premiere on November 9th at Cinema Odeon - Cinelândia, Rio de Janeiro. The most traditional cinema in the city will host Rio's mass regueira at 7:30 pm. The program is already being negotiated for TV and its premiere should be announced soon.
In the program's content, Helio Bentes hits the road, visiting and getting to know bands that stand out in their cities, the tradition and their local characters. In the first episode, the presenter goes to Baixada Fluminense on Rio de Janeiro, to introduce the public to one of the gurus of Reggae Nacional, the singer and composer Ras Bernardo.
