The great Jamaican saxophonistCedric"Im"Brooks passed away at the age of 70 last Friday, May 3rd. The musician, who had been hospitalized since February 2010, suffered a massive heart attack at theNova YorkHospital, which is in theQueensneighborhood.
Among the great albums the musician participated in isBurning Spear's debut,"Studio One Presenting". In the 70s he also collaborated withMystic Revelation of Rastafariand had his own band,"Light of Saba".
Before getting sick, Brooks was one of the musicians in the great bandSkatalites. The musician left behind seven children and four sisters.
