Da Ghama, former guitarist of Cidade Negra, kicks off his new tour "BaixafrikaBrasil"! Check it out!

Singer and songwriter Da Ghama, founder and former guitarist of Banda Cidade Negra, now in a solo career, chose the month of November, “Mês da Consciência Negra”, to start, together with Banda Baixafrika, the pre-release tour of his 2nd solo CD entitled "BaixafrikaBrasil". In this new work, Da Ghama goes deep into social issues, seeking to draw attention especially to Baixada Fluminense, as well as ecological and racial issues. It is a peculiar moment of reclaiming its roots, and this includes Reggae in all its greatness. It features appearances by Alexandre from Natiruts, Bebeto, Marcelo Lobato from Rappa, Ricardo Barreto from Blitz, Serjão Loroza in the song ‘Trabalhador’ by Papa Rick, Banda Planta e Raiz in the song “Pique Naty Dread” and Gil Soul from Banda Limusine Negra in the track Falar a Verdade. This album is, above all, a sincere tribute to the African roots and to all the Brazilian singers and composers who have been making the history of Reggae in Brazil over the last 30 years.

A TOUR

For this tour, Da Ghama, in addition to performing songs from his new album and the previous one - “Violas e Canções” - will also bring into his repertoire some of his hits in partnership with Cidade Negra, such as “A sombra da Maldade”, “Estrada”, “Retratos da vida”, “Girassol”, “Firmamento” and “Onde você mora”. The songs “Um só Coração”, “Na Rua na Chuva e na Fazenda” and “Não Chores Mais” are also part of his repertoire.
