BaggaDread brings reggae back to number 1 in another talent show on SBT!
Many stations have already opened their doors to reggae, but only SBT allowed JAH's rhythm to be praised to the maximum. It all started at the end of 2008, when the band A TROPA won the broadcaster's ASTROS program. The award opened many doors, not only for the group but for reggae itself. Now the program is MÁQUINA DA FAMA, where the main theme is to bring talents to the stage who perform covers of their idols, all with excellent sound, lighting and scenography. Among dozens of candidates, 12 were selected to participate in the FAMA MACHINE, and from there the champion of the night would emerge.

REGGAE ON TOP

Among the 12 candidates of the night, Gilson BaggaDread, from São Paulo, represented Jah's rhythm with aplomb. Taking the classic "Is This Love" by King Bob Marley, the audience went wild not only because of the performance, but because of BaggaDread's evident delivery, which even caught the attention of the presenter, Patrícia Abravanel. You sing with a sparkle in your eyes, with passion..." - she said. The presentation had the highest rating - 9.8 - making BaggaDread the "Máquina" champion. Gilson started playing music early, at the age of 8 singing in churches. At 14 he was already playing in the band Malungos, and later in ALMA ZION, a group he is still a part of today. ALMA ZION recently performed on SHOWLIVRE, a webtv famous for broadcasting pocket shows live over the internet.
