Dancehall singer makes an appeal for better lyrics in the genre!

Jamaican Dancehall in recent years is known for being uncompromising when it comes to lyrics, which are mostly double-meaning and have no content whatsoever (as happens a lot in Brazil).

Recently, artist G Monei, who has worked with names like Mr. Vegas and Hawkeye, declared that dancehall sales have declined due to lack of quality, and highlighted:

The fact that Jamaican Dancehall is successful locally does not mean that it will create an international impact, as writing a song that speaks to a "corner" is different from writing for the world...".

G Monei, whose name is Chris Reid, pointed to Bob Marley as a classic example of an artist who has content and international appeal.
