Respected Jamaican newspaper calls Gilberto Gil the Brazilian Bob Marley! Check it out!

Brazil and Jamaica have always had many affinities not only between their people, but also with music and sports. Recently, Gilberto Gil was featured in the respected Jamaican newspaper ‘Jamaica Observer’ and won a report that exalts his career and calls him ‘O Bob Marley Brasileiro’. The newspaper makes the comparison not only because of its popularity and musical versatility, but also because it represents one of the voices of the oppressed. Gil has worked with Jamaicans on several occasions, from recording "Vamos Fugir" with The Wailers (a band that accompanied Bob Marley) to Kaya N’Gan Daya, a tribute he recorded in 2001 on Reggae Island.
