BOOGIE ’ROOTS’ OOGIE! Globo soap opera surprises with two Dennis Brown bangers!

The period soap opera Boogie Oogie broadcast by Rede Globo aims to bring back all the "disco music" magic of the late 70s, and it does so with a certain competence, as iconic names such as The Trammps, Donna Summer and Elton John are part of its soundtrack. Following the plot, two of the characters decide to have a themed wedding, which they called "Festa Rastafari". Well, we're not even going to go into the merits of this title, but the fact is that we didn't expect anything very immersive - when it comes to reggae - coming from a station as popular as Rede Globo. Surprisingly, the so-called "Festa Rastafari" evoked two incredible classics by Dennis Brown, prince of reggae music of which even Bob Marley was a fan, being "At the Foot of the Mountain" and "A Cup of Tea".

Coincidentally (or not) Dennis Brown's birthday was two days ago, February 1st. A tribute? Let's believe so.
