Cidade Verde Sounds releases oficialmente seu new album, ’O Jogo’! Listen! todas as tracks!

Titled O Jogo, the new album by Cidade Verde Sounds confirms the phenomenon the group has become. Touring Brazil relentlessly - with sold-out shows packed with politicized, open-minded young people - Guilherme Adonai and Paulo Dub Mastor spread their ideas across the country and beyond. O Jogo - released digitally today, October 30 - began to be conceived in Kingston, Jamaica, in 2014. The songs "Rebelde na Esquina", "Hoje" and "O que a vida traz" were produced at Tuff Gong studios, founded by Bob Marley in 1965.

HEAVYWEIGHT TRACKS

The title track, which opens the album, is a blend of reggae and ragga. The lyrics complement the cover image: "the microphone is the extension of the head". For Cidade Verde Sounds, reggae is more than messages of peace and respect for nature. The style created in Jamaica is a true weapon. The essence of reggae is protest, it's the daily life of the ghetto, of the Brazilian. It's not just peace, love and beach - Adonai explains. Cidade Verde Sounds' Jamaican rhythms are highly produced and innovate on the beats. "Dancehall Style" is an invitation to the dance floor. Guest Monkey Jhayam lets loose on "Real Raggamuffin". His ragga vocals gain body with Dub Mastor's electronic base: a mix of trap and dubstep - heavy bass music! With a strong discourse against marijuana prohibition, the song "É Proibido" recalls that "the time has come for a reassessment". A partnership that reinforces veteran artists' respect for Cidade Verde Sounds is the presence of Zeider (vocalist of Planta e Raiz) on "Hoje" - a sunny reggae that makes you want to live. "Estar com Você" is the funk moment, with horns in the foreground on this ballad. Funk continues to drive the next track, "Por Amor", which gets beats from DJ Coala and rhymes from Nissin, of Oriente - a powerful rap combo that has also been exchanging ideas with young people across Brazil. "Viver como um Só", a collaboration with the German label Oneness Records, speaks of differences between people and calls on everyone to see beauty in other cultures and different ways of thinking. The final track, "Red Eyes", an acoustic ballad, already has a released video with more than half a million views on YouTube. The album was mastered by Fernando Sanches at Estúdio El Rocha.
