The world of reggae and music lost another one of its architects this week. Gallimore Sutherland, one of the original members of the vocal trio The Gladiators, passed away last Wednesday, January 11, from complications resulting from diabetes.
The iconic band was formed by Gallimore (rhythm guitar and vocal harmonies), Albert Griffiths (vocals) and Clinton Fearon (bass and vocals) in the late 1960s, and achieved an incredible series of hits, especially in Europe and South America.
Check out this and other legends that have already left us, in the special section "In Memoriam".

The trio has some of the most essential albums in the Jamaican reggae discography, such as "Trenchtown Mix Up", "Proverbial Reggae" and "Back to Roots".
Clinton Fearon left the group in the 90s, and has had a successful solo career since his first album "Disturb the Devil" in 1994. Albert Griffiths was removed due to health problems, being replaced by his son Al Griffiths, who has also left the band.
Gladiators currently features Droop Lion on lead vocals and other legendary members such as Vernon Sutherland (Gallimore's brother - on keyboards) and Clinton Rufus (lead guitar).
