Riddim Agency debuts in Brazil, uniting two major names in world reggae in May!

May is Reggae month, always filled with tributes to its greatest exponent, Bob Marley, celebrating the music that left a small island for the world since the 1970s. Amid the celebrations, Agência Riddim brings two great names of world reggae to Brazil. Arriving this week are none other than the Jamaican vocal trio The Abyssinians and the leading voice from the Virgin Islands, singer Dezarie.

THE ABYSSINIANS e DEZARIE

The tour will include shows in Recife, São Bernardo do Campo (SP), Porto Alegre, Aracaju and Salvador, together with some of the highlights of Brazilian reggae such as Ponto de Equilíbrio, Tribo de Jah and Mato Seco. Dezarie arrives with her full band led by Ron Benjamin (also founder of Midnite) and a repertoire packed with hits like "Gracious Mama Africa" and "Gone Down", which consecrated her in the country since her first visit. The Abyssinians return three years after their last tour as one of the most legendary vocal trios, owners of true reggae anthems like "Satta Massagana" and "Abendigo". The Abyssinians' musical direction is by Prince Manning, Jamaican drummer for other legends such as Bunny Wailer, accompanied by the skilled musicians of Leões de Israel.

A AGÊNCIA RIDDIM

Agência Riddim is an initiative by friends Henrique Pesqueira and Rafael Costa, both young and active in the Jamaican music market for almost a decade. The new agency promises to bring fresh news and strength to the scene in Brazil and South America. Among the artists Rafael or Henrique have worked with are Damian "Jr Gong" Marley, SOJA, Kymani Marley, Israel Vibration, Steel Pulse, Dezarie, Andrew Tosh, Midnite, Max Romeo, Alborosie, Groundation, Eek-a-Mouse, Alpha Blondy, The Abyssinians, Pablo Moses, Don Carlos, Gregory Isaacs, Siddy Ranks, Kenyatta Hill (Culture), Apple Gabriel, as well as Brazilians Cidade Verde Sounds, Igor Salify, Leões de Israel and many others. This is the duo's first joint project and throughout the year they should still announce at least two major tours to take place in the coming months.
