Once again a positive point for Brazilian reggae. JAH I RAS, one of the most conceptual bands with conscious messages of the present day, this time released its new music video right in the heart of Africa, in the cities of Addis Ababa and Shashamane in Ethiopia, cities of the international Rastafari I repatriation, where Haile Selassie I built his entire Solomonic empire in the 20th century.
It was there that Ras Kadhu was in November 2017 for the international Rasta Culture conference, representing at this important meeting the central of R.U.F. of Latin America. The chosen song could be no other: "Back To Afreeka" (Returning to Africa), which had its mastering at Bob Marley's studio, Tuff Gong in Jamaica.
The city of Shashamane in Ethiopia is certainly the most sacred place for every Rasta, because it was the city that Haile Selassie I designated for our Repatriation on African soil. Since 1955 Rastas from all over the world have worked toward one day reaching this goal, this centralization; for me and for Brazil in particular it came in 2018, when I had the blessing of presenting and representing Brazil at the First Global Rastafafari intra-African conference.
Only JAH knows the feeling of knowing the original houses and schools with Rastafari foundations founded there in the tribal heart of Africa, and it is also moving to be welcomed by the elders as a Rastafari son born in Brazil, born in Latin America, born on the other side of Africa.
On the occasion we also had the opportunity to record the images of "Back To Afreeka", which was filmed mainly in Shashamane at the "Roots Reggae Concert" festival during my participation in the show of the band "Imperial Majestic" and at the Lion of Judah Square in Addis Ababa.
This clip had the great dedication of the bredren André Pupo, Caue Ito, Ivo Felipe, Raoni Santos and Guilherme Pulice, a heavyweight team that realized this work together with my friends Paulinho Rasta and Guilherme. In this conviction we continue working together for the future documentary we also filmed in Ethiopia that should come out still this year through producer ARICA.
This was the great experience I had of "Returning to Africa", almost a month alongside the film director, great Brazilian shaman and godfather Enio Staub. I can only thank the great spirit for this blessing and this dream fulfilled." - explains vocalist Ras Kadhu.

Production of the video was handled by ARICA, directed by filmmaker Enio Staub, photography by Caue Ito and editing by André Pupo and team. The video portrays the artist's entire journey on the Sacred Land well, and the images that make up this clip are actually parts of a film/documentary that will still be released this year about the history of Ras Kadhu, his life journey that took him to Africa, to the Amazon and to the founding of the new community "Nova Shashamane" in São Paulo, Brazil.
