The band Natiruts released this Monday (27) the music video for the song "Serei Luz", with the special participation of singer Thiaguinho. The song will be part of the reggae group's eighth new album, which should be released by October.
The lyrics preach unity between peoples and races in times of political polarization in the country. "Serei Luz" is composed by Thiaguinho in partnership with Vinícius Feijão.
I made the song with my partner and it was born without being a samba. It really had a reggae feel and a lot to do with Natiruts...", says Thiaguinho.

With the chorus "be it amen, be it axé or shalom/It doesn't matter your color, creed, gender or religion. We are brothers" the song is perfect for Natiruts. "I didn't remember them just because it's reggae, but because this song can only be sung by those who already have that speech in their lives", says Thiaguinho.
Thiaguinho and Alexandre Carlo, lead singer of Natiruts, had never spoken to each other. But Feijão, Thiaguinho's partner, made sure the music reached the band in Brasília.
"We live in Brasília, we are far from people. But, through a friend, the song came to us and, knowing who it was from, I was expecting something happier, because Thiaguinho is known for this kind of upbeat sound. When I heard it, I said: wow, it has everything to do with Natiruts", says Alexandre Carlo.
"We recorded it right at the time when there were a lot of family fights going on about politics and also on social media. I showed the song to a more right-wing relative and he said it was just like him. He showed the other person that he was Lula down to the last strand of hair and he loved it too. I was sure the message was correct," says Alexandre.
As soon as they received Thiaguinho's music, the reggae band started working immediately. "They sent me a long song with a chorus at the end, so we shared that big message, which looks like it was psychographed, and they loved the result", says Alexandre.
"We set the songs to reggae and added more choruses, because we're on stage we know that the crowd likes it", concludes the musician.

With everyone happy with the result, the band decided to invite Thiaguinho to participate in the recording. "We scheduled a barbecue with beer and then recorded. I sang in the medium-low range, and Thiaguinho has a higher and higher tone, like rhythm and blues. I started singing, he threw his voice up there and it was beautiful!", celebrates Alexandre.
For Thiaguinho, this song sealed a great new friendship. "We didn't really know each other, but we were united by this music that talks about the union of people, regardless of race, thoughts or ideals. The invitation they made for me to participate made me even happier and brought us together forever", says the singer.
