The Gladiators! The legendary group performs at República do Reggae with big news!

One of the most iconic bands in reggae history, The Gladiators will perform on November 30 at the República do Reggae Festival in Salvador. The news is that, in addition to great vocalist Droop Lion and legendary members such as Clinton Rufus (guitar), Vernon Sutherland (keyboards) and Andrew “Bassie” Campbell, original drummer Stanley “Barnabas” Bryan will be with them.

The repertoire is certain to include major classics as well as new songs from the album “Back on Tracks”, released in 2014. The group is completing 51 years of history and gained international fame in the 1970s, with its first vocal lineup featuring Albert Griffiths, Clinton Fearon and Gallimore Sutherland.

Albert unfortunately stepped away in the mid-2000s after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s, and Gallimore sadly passed away in 2017. Clinton Fearon continues a successful solo career.

“The Gladiators” is one of Jamaica’s most classic groups and has a legion of fans in Brazil. It will undoubtedly be magical to relive anthems such as “Hello Carol”, “Bongo Red”, “Naturality” and others.
