Bobby Ramone! An unusual fusion of Bob Marley and Ramones shakes up two worlds! Listen!
At the beginning of March, the French label Guerrilla Asso released an unusual work to say the least: the album "Rocket to Kingston", the union between Bob Marley's voice and the raw and aggressive chords of the Ramones (a North American band from the 70s that revolutionized the world of rock).
(Album cover of "Rocket To Kingston")
This Kingston - New York connection generated a fun, fast and melodic sound, represented by 10 classic songs by the King of Reggae, which also had their titles playfully "mixed" with the names of Ramones songs, such as "I Don’t Wanna Stand Up", a union between "Get Up Stand UP" by Bob and "I Don’t Want to Grow Up" by the American band. Listen to the result below!

PUNK x REGGAE

Despite being different, reggae is not new to flirting with punkrock or vice versa. Amid the boom of the punk scene at the end of the 70s, the infamous Don Letts opened the Roxy Club, a beautiful alternative for the youth of the time to have a place to have fun and enjoy the best titles of the moment, however, as most of the bands at that time had not yet recorded, there were not many punk rock records to play. Instead, Letts included a lot of dub and reggae in his sets, and is credited with introducing these sounds to the London punk scene, influencing The Clash and other bands.
