Bob Marley's children detained with marijuana in Florida!
TALLAHASSEE, Florida (Reuters) - Two sons of singer Bob Marley were arrested in Florida for marijuana possession after police found numerous joints in the car in which the heirs of the king of reggae were traveling. According to authorities, Julian Ricardo Marley, 26, and Stephen Nesta Marley, 29, both residents of Miami, were charged on Wednesday (13) after being stopped by police for speeding in a Mercedes-Benz as they traveled near Tallahassee, the state capital.
"I stopped near the driver's door and smelled a strong odor of marijuana," said highway patrol sergeant Hugh Cutchen. "In a search of the vehicle, we found eight marijuana cigarettes." One of the joints was in the jacket worn by Julian Marley and the others were found under the passenger seat. Stephen Marley was charged with marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia, such as rolling papers. Julian was charged only with possession.
The reggae brothers, who were returning home after a show in New Orleans, posted bail and were released, said the sergeant. Bob Marley, who died of cancer in 1981, was a confessed marijuana user. Ganja, as the herb is known in his country of origin, Jamaica, is considered sacred by followers of the Rastafari philosophy.
