Learn more about the release of the CD "Caminho da Luz" by reggae band Sativa Roots!

On the Path to the Light — that is the road Sativa Roots has been traveling for more than 2 years. That is the title of the band's newest CD, with unreleased songs showing maturity and great musicianship, the result of major shows and their experienced road work. The CD was born from the band's need to evolve, entering a new phase full of opportunities and challenges. Among the seven songs, we have the re-recording of Espiritual, a song by João Terra, with 25 years of Reggae he is the band's greatest influence, and certainly the greatest teacher of all its members; Sativa Roots has already accompanied him as a backing band, gaining even more experience and principles within Reggae Music. The debut album arrives strong with the swinging reggae of Conflitos da Nação, which in its lyrics offers a possible understanding of the new faces of reggae today; the counterpoint in heavy ballads with strong arrangements comes from Saudade, which shows the differences between the mind and the heart; the messages of peace come from Terceira Canção, which brings a plea for Faith and the search for God's message and true human values; the first track conveys moments of reflection on good feelings and life's true pleasures in the song Beira D´agua composed by Eduardo Henrique; the sound of resistance fighting against an increasingly troubled world of social and personal problems of increasingly indifferent aspects goes to CAOS, written by Thiago Garcia. The union of the 4 main members that began for the pleasure of making good music, blending the immortalized rhythm of Bob Marley and other great names of the genre mixed with typical elements of MPB. The positivity conveyed by Lenin Santos's vocals and the band's harmony would already be enough to make this a great debut album, but Sativa Roots does not fall short and receives keyboards from Marquinhos Rosa and the brass duo Fernando - Trumpet and Olimpio - Trombone, who provide extra reinforcements, full of energy and weight in the repertoire.
