Reação, a Sergipe Roots reggae band, on TV!

Reação band from Aracajú for Brazil, one of the few bands that still cultivates roots reggae, appeared on April 13, 2004 on Jornal Hoje, showing the world a bit of its life and work, which in less than three years has been winning new followers.
Coming from the outskirts of Aracajú, they stand out more each day in the reggae scene and in the media, winning fans, valuing their good music, creating fan clubs that always climb the hill to watch rehearsals. Besides music, the band has an idea to create a social project called "Reação no Morro", bringing together these fans and all residents of the outskirts who enjoy reggae.
A great band whose greatest influence comes from our grand master of reggae "Bob Marley", and with much diversity, seeking influences from baião to their ancestors, through which reggae influence creates songs of Faith and everyday reality. With their lyrics against social injustices, they come strong bringing the roots and culture of Northeastern reggae to the Southeast of our country, passing through São Paulo, performing some shows, and settling in Rio de Janeiro to continue the fabulous work this band does every day.
Rede Globo together with Jornal Hoje has been opening space to promote music, new bands and cultures from all over Brazil; this time it showed a bit of the militants of Reação band, their work, their community and their ideas. This shows that reggae is standing out more each day on the national scene, showing its face and leaving aside the banal prejudices that many people still have.
