Commemoration of "Reggae Day": 23 years without Bob Marley!
On May 11, the greatest promoter of international reggae music completes 23 years since he has not been among us. On this date Salvador celebrates Reggae Day, a special tribute from the City Council that instituted and approved law no. 5817/2000, through a suggestion by Sociologist Manoel de Almeida, communicator Lino de Almeida and businessman Astrogildo Austúria (Tote), thus configuring the Bob Marley Celebration event as a fair tribute to the Mega Star. The commemorative show will be held starting at 9:00 p.m. at Largo Terreiro de Jesus (Pelourinho) with the bands Los Baganas and Kayamanaya, which will launch their third independent CD, already on sale in stores throughout Brazil. The event has the cultural support of the "Projeto Pelourinho Dia e Noite" and "Fundação Gregório de Matos", and Pre-Production by Sergio Santana (Passarinho).
