João Terra's new release shows the artist's full maturity in a heavy, conscious reggae!
João Terra's newest and most anticipated CD has just been released. Recorded in São Paulo (2002), the album was titled "Reggae Mesmo... Vivo em Sampa", and has very distinctive characteristics perceived right from the first chords. The heavy vocals are one of the first steps toward distinguishing this musician and his highly experienced band. The instrumental melody blending root reggae with all of Terra's unique characteristics makes his music incomparable. In short, Terra presented a beautiful repertoire, with highlights for the unreleased tracks "Um só Corpo" and "Reggae Mesmo", the album title. The heavy hitters also come from two free versions of Bob Marley: "Waiting in Vain" which became "Esperando em Vão", and "Canções de Vida" as a version of "Redemption Song". The resistance lyrics go to "O que será de Nós?" and "Na Favela", re-recordings of his main songs from previous albums. In these, Terra recounts and revives the long road that João Terra e Banda has already traveled.
