Surforeggae meets Ponto de Equilíbrio at KVA. News about the band's new phase.
Even on a holiday bridge, reggae doesn’t stop. On Monday, the 11th, KVA hosted the bands To Fly, Edu Ribeiro & Cativeiro and the renowned Ponto de Equilíbrio. The venue was packed, and To Fly, the first to perform, felt all the audience’s energy, making this one of their best shows, according to vocalist Anderson. Ponto de Equilíbrio was undoubtedly the highlight of the night and did justice to the fans’ affection. A strong performance, typical of the Vila Isabel band, made KVA shake with the weight of Brazilian roots reggae. Lucas Kastrup, drummer, talks a bit about the band’s current situation and the release of the new work.

LUCAS KASTRUP FOR SURFOREGGAE

"Currently, we have many shows from north to south of the country. Even here at KVA, Ponto is in the middle of a sequence of performances in Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. Later this month we head to the Northeast, and we hope this positive wave grows even more. Our work is based on love, and thanks to God we’re being blessed. Ponto de Equilíbrio begins a new phase that materializes with the release of our first official album called Reggae a Vida com Amor. The CD that people know is called DEMONSTRAÇÃO, and it’s very old, with recordings from when the band had only 6 months to 2 years of existence. In December we turn 5 years old, and Reggae a Vida com Amor is the result of all this learning. We worked hard, and our commitment is to the truth that comes from Jah and multiplies in each of us. The new work has much higher quality, new songs, and we believe it will please reggae fans amid the good phase of independent music in Brazil, and the Surforeggae site is one of the instruments for spreading Ponto’s message, and we are grateful for that. Lucas."

KVA closes with Edu Ribeiro & Cativeiro, who kept the crowd hot until dawn. "War" by Bob Marley, "Me namora," "Peguei o trem do Amor" were among the songs performed. We’d like to send a big hug to all KVA’s organization, to the bands’ support in carrying out our work, and a special one to the Reggae Style crew, always involved in the positive reality of Brazilian reggae.
