The night of last Friday, November 5, marked another great event for Reggae in Brazil. With the growing evolution of the rhythm in the country, international attraction shows are happening more and more frequently. Expresso Brasil, São Paulo's largest entertainment venue, received on the aforementioned date an audience of almost 15 thousand people for the first presentation of Lucky Dube's current Brazil tour. Co-starring the party, it was also possible to see some of the biggest attractions of the rhythm in the country: Tribo de Jah, Ponto de Equilíbrio and Planta & Raiz. Opening the night, the cariocas from Ponto de Equilíbrio impressed with the audience's receptivity, who sang all their songs in chorus. The band is releasing their second CD "Reggae a vida com Amor", while the first (Demo CD) sold thousands of copies. The second presentation of the night was by paulista Planta & Raiz, who warmed up the audience for the night's big attraction. Everything ready for the big show of the night. South African Lucky Dube, already accustomed to large audiences, was back in Brazil, after his passage through the country in 1997 at Ruffles Reggae. The complete band stood out especially for the presence of the backing vocals, who put on a show of their own. Great successes from the first albums could be heard, besides songs from more recent discs, such as "The Other Side" from 2003 and "Soul Taker" from 2001. Everyone happily enjoyed the show with a full feeling of peace and harmony, where no disturbances were seen. Expectations now lie with the cities of Salvador, Feira de Santana (BA) and Recife, which will enjoy Lucky Dube on the 13th, 14th (early morning) and 14th (night), respectively, since Curitiba had the singer's presentation on the 6th. Closing the night, Tribo de Jah, who was recently on an international tour, sang their successes that were undoubtedly very important for the dissemination of Reggae throughout the country. Once again the event evaluation is positive, and we hope Lucky Dube has an excellent passage through the other cities, and that he can return more and more times.
