Surforeggae 4 years! Filosofia Reggae puts on a big show for a packed Açaí Praia! Check the celebration!
4 years passed, and what was a simple college project, took shape every day, with each study, with each research... accompanied by the unforgettable soundtrack of "Youth Man", the Congos, it was clear that our ideas would transcend any academic environment. Today, after some unhappy and many pleasant experiences, we celebrate another year of life, knowing that Surforeggae is getting stronger, more helpful and, above all, independent every day. To celebrate this date, we chose a house that has been with us since the beginning, and that has always given space to the movement we address... Açaí Praia. On May 19th, the party had a name and a lot of quality sound with Filosofia Reggae, a band that started together with the portal 4 years ago. The crowd took over the place minute by minute, while Junior Murvin, Augustus Pablo and Lee Perry entered each one's ears with grandeur through the "selector" Luiz Reggae Soul. At approximately 00:30, the announcement is made... philosophy begins its show. Impossible to stay still to the strong sound and rhythm of Ras Portuga's bass added to Daiane "NinaRoots"'s breaks on the drums. It gives us great pride to be able to witness such an evolution of a band that we have followed since the beginning. Açaí, at this point filled with people, accompanies the energy of Filosofia in "Rastaman", goes crazy with the first chords of "Leva a Vibração" and gets emotional with the delicious groove of "Minha Rosa". If the excellent show so far wasn't enough, Edu Ribeiro takes over one of the "mics" to take a hit from Bob Marley with "Who the Cap Fit", from the 1976 album "Rastaman Vibration". Without letting the atmosphere fade, O Filosofia takes another one from the king, "Rat Race". Also on the setlist, "Sentimento Bom" and the great Portuguese version of "I’m Still In Love With You", by Sean Paul, but original base by Althea & Donna with "Uptown top Ranking". Filled with beautiful people, Surforeggae's birthday was a great success, even with some threats from the "Psiu Men" to put an end to the event. We thank all our partners, friends and especially visitors who support our work and strengthen it.  Click here and see photos from this event.
