We are always highlighting the importance of 2005 for the history of international shows in Brazil, and, just a few days away from the great Steel Pulse, we now come across the legendary Wailers, the band of style icon Bob Marley. Tickets closed quickly, which served as a thermometer for the public's enthusiasm and expectations. On the last night of October 12th, the house was busy very early and it was sure to be packed! Counting the beginning of the show on their fingers, the audience quickly took to the dance floor and the restlessness only stopped when the lights went out... the show began! "cartão de visita" were two killer instrumental introductions, peculiar to big Jamaican bands, and soon after, all the vocals took over the stage. When the first notes of "Rastaman Vibration" sounded, the hysteria was general... SCARY! The night's set was made up of some songs from the current Wailers... however, seeing The Wailers is like reliving Bob Marley, and with each classic performed, Credicard felt the power of Reggae in this generation of young people. "Crazy Baldhead" and "Who the Cap Fit" precede the wonderful "Is This Love"... how can you convey such a strong emotion in text? Maybe not even Hemingway could do it! The crowd's choirs were out of the ordinary, which justifies the human warmth of Brazilians that captivates so many international bands, regardless of musical style. With no time to breathe, the beautiful "Waiting in Vain" moves the coldest of mortals. Aston Family Barret, legendary bassist from the first Wailers formation, dictated the weight of the sound without mercy, while smoking his pipe almost the entire show. When the band introduced "No Woman no Cry", it was impossible to remain indifferent... the reception was fantastic, few bands in the world get such a strong response in live performances. Afterwards, "Jamming", which exploded in the mouth of every streamer present, and "Buffalo Soldier", ended the presentation in the face of endless requests for BIS. I repeat, the public's receptivity was something out of the ordinary... an unconditional love for Bob Marley's work was present in the form of requests for any extra second of that magical moment. As it is impossible to say no to something so powerful, the Wailers respond in kind... performing nothing less than "Redemption Song", just on guitar. If you were unfortunately unable to attend, try to imagine thousands of people singing a single song... imagine the vibe... imagine? So, it was even more so! The experienced band also did not hide their emotion and closed the show with "Exodus". If you have a strong heart, get ready... in a few days, Steel Pulse will be in the same Credicard Hall, don't miss it! "Abre-te Sésamo, Aqui vai o Rastaman!"
