Intolerance: Carlos Tadeu, a member of the Surforeggae family, loses his life after a traffic dispute.
On the afternoon of last November 15, 2005, the end of young Carlos Tadeu, a great personal friend and member of the Surforeggae family, was sealed. I would like to talk a lot about him, about how much he liked the simple things in life, how much he wanted to learn to play bass to make the wonderful lines of the Gladiators songs, in short... there is much to say, but something stands out in all of this: intolerance. After a traffic argument, Carlos and Sandra, his girlfriend, were heading toward a fatal outcome. A Kombi with 4 individuals intercepted Carlos's Fiat Pálio, when one of the passengers got out and fired 4 shots into him and 3 more into Sandra, who is being operated on at this moment (22:10), lost sight in one eye, but is not at risk of death, and is the main witness to what happened. One of the passengers in the kombi has already been arrested, and the capture of the others is only a matter of time. It is at these times that I ask myself to what extent a weapon defends anyone... the fact is that BY RIGHT, weapons are definitely part of our daily lives, making life more and more disposable. If weapons did not exist, or if access to them were restricted, Carlos Tadeu would be enjoying his new car with his beautiful daughter Beatriz, only 8 years old... Deco, a great friend of Renato from Surforeggae, would be taking care of his family and having fun with friends as he always did, that is... if this is the world we live in, we have to learn its harsh rules.
Three boys had played together since 1986... friends, always united on trips, in problems or in simple circles of conversation. Those boys would be 26 today, and would be fighting to get ahead in life. I, Rangel Melkunas, am one of those boys and grew up alongside Jorge Rodrigues Neres and Carlos Tadeu, my best friends... and both left innocently. Surforegueiro, value your life, take care of yourself and anticipate situations. Know that YOU would be missed by many people.  Carlos leaves behind his daughter Beatriz, his mother Izabel and his sister Vivian.
