The band Ponto de Equilíbrio celebrates its Gold record as one of the best-selling independent albums on Brasil (50 thousand copies). The band that has always gathered a large number of fans at its shows, in Brasília was no different. More than 3,000 people on a very rainy night on the edge of Lago Paranoá!
Even with time not helping much, the crowd was delighted with the great hits “Aonde vai Chegar?”, “Ponto de Equilíbrio”, “Poder da Palavra”, “Só Quero o que é Meu”, ”Jah, Jah me leve”, in short, compositions that elevated Ponto de Equilíbrio to one of the highest points of the national reggae scene, drawing attention from other big names in music, like Marcelo Yuka:
"Ponto de Equilíbrio achieves a sound equivalent to the best bands of the 70s, with influences from dub, nyabinghi and even samba, the most pulsating rhythm of the neighborhood where the band is based".
The events will be remembered by both parties... by the local people who watched a unique spectacle on the banks of the Paranoá side, and by Ponto de Equilíbrio himself, who absorbed all the public's energy to make a sound of weight and attitude. To crown the moment, the event organizers awarded the Gold record for the 50 thousand copies sold of the album "Reggae a vida com amor". Surforeggae congratulates this band, which we had the pleasure of following since its first steps in São Paulo, who knew how to present a work with so much identity and strength, that record companies and any other intermediary proved unnecessary. FORÇA, REGGAE BRAZUCA!
