Celso Moretti, pioneer of reggae in Minas Gerais, releases his 3rd album!

Precursor of reggae in Minas Gerais, Celso Moretti launches his third CD “Reggae Favela Brasil”. The CD Reggae Favela Brasil was produced with resources from the Betim Culture Incentive Law, where 1,000 copies were made. Since 1962, Celso has lived in peripheral regions of Minas Gerais. His daily contact with culture in favelas was what influenced him in the construction of philosophy, Reggae Favela, which is based on all his work as a composer and musician. His new CD Reggae Favela Brasil will compose a trilogy along with Reggae Favela and Reggae Favela Periferia, CDs released respectively in 1997 and 2002. Bringing with it a very peculiar language, the “Moretês” an invented language, Celso Moretti promises to raise the public with its energetic and performanceal evocations. Accompanied by the band Barraco de Rente, Moretti will have in his repertoire songs of his trilogy “Reggae Favela”, “Reggae Favela Periferia”, and his newest work, the “Reggae Favela Brasil” that has participations of Fauzi Beydoun leader of the Jah Tribe, Mamubá leader of the Tribal Connection and Juliano Mourão ex-vocalist of the band Omegah.
