The Tribute to Bob Marley, an event that has already brought to Salvador another great name of Reggae International as Alpha Blonde, took thousands of people to Wet’n Wild last Saturday, March 31, 2007. The night of Reggae was opened by Moa Anbesa – one of the highlights of Bahia’s altenative scene, along with other names such as the Seed of Peace, Red Meditation and Dissent. In what was a great opportunity given to the groups in this segment, Moa Anbesa made a repertoire based on its two CDs – “Experience” and live “Moa Anbesa Lively”, as well as songs in honor of Bob Marley. At the end of the band's performance, he was invited to make his debut in Brazil by Jamaican Cezar, who showed the full strength of the new generation of Jamaican singers, making four exceptional songs. We hope to see you again around here with a full show soon! The second attraction of the night, the cariocas of the “Balance Point” made a show full of songs from the new CD “Open the Window”, in addition to the already known ones of the public – “Reggae Tree”, “Rastafará” and “Where will arrive”, all from the album “Reggae a Vida com Amor”. The group has already released the new CD scheduled for May 20, at the Acoustic Concha of the Castro Alves Theatre in Salvador. Launching the new album “Black Pele”, the band Black Adam went on stage with covers of Bob Marley, old songs such as “Bot one” and new ones, such as the title track “Black Pele”, “Good Angel” and “Crazy Crazy”. The band's new CD, which completed last year 10 years of career, was mixed by Jamaican Clive Hunt, a beast who has worked with great names of Jamaican music, such as Max Romeo and Abyssinians. In the backstage, the great attraction of the night – Lucky Dube, was already preparing for his presentation. The musicians, very attentive to the fans, met all requests for photos and autographs, always smiling. The stage assembly took place with the curtains closed, and all were caught by surprise when they opened already with the band all ready and playing the traditional instrumental. With the same background as the show 2004, the musicians showed total integration and gave a real show. Everyone went to the delirium when Lucky Dube got on stage, and by close, the Wet’n Wild did not go down. Songs such as “Back to my roots”, “I’ve got you babe” and the classic “Together as one” left the space small, including some people who were far ahead of the stage passed badly because of the stocking at the time of the show. This was Lucky Dube's third performance in Salvador, and without a doubt the most vibrant. The backing vocals gave a true spectacle, singing and dancing in the African style, pulling lots of applause from the large audience present. Once again, Lucky Dube proved that he is one of Reggae's most popular artists in Bahia, a fact that unfortunately does not happen in other states, which often makes it difficult for him to come to Brazil. The night of Reggae was ended by the band Dissidência, from Santo Amaro – BA, a band that has many years on the road and has participated in other great shows in the state, having several songs playing on Reggae's radio shows. At the concert breaks other great Reggae beasts were announced to come soon, now all we have to do is wait for confirmation of the dates and prepare for the upcoming events.
