Don Carlos, a big name in global Reggae, is completing 43 years of his career, and will celebrate another chapter in his history on an unforgettable tour of South America. Don, who was born in 1952 in the district of Waterhouse - Kingston, capital of Jamaica, had a very difficult childhood, as he lived side by side with poverty and crime in his neighborhood. The harsh reality faced since his early days brought inspiration to the artist who composed essential Reggae works, such as "Harvest Time", "Just a Passing Glance", "Ghetto Living" and "Seven Days a Week". We can say that Don Carlos NEVER released a weak album in his entire career, and the sequence of hits he has had since 1965 is impressive. "Don", which in Jamaica means someone very respected, was also the lead singer of Black Uhuru, alongside Duckie Simpson and Garth Dennis. Alongside this formation of one of the best known and renowned vocal trios, he was in Brazil in 1994 at "Coke Reggae Time" sharing the stage with Dennis Brown, Andrew Tosh and The Wailers. The last time Don Carlos was in Brazil, Salvador came to do an exclusive show in the capital of Bahia, sending their fans into a frenzy and demonstrating all their charisma and special treatment to everyone. Without a doubt, Don Carlos is the most simple, polite and charismatic Reggae artist that we Team Surforeggae have ever had the opportunity to work with.
