Former Aswad vocalist records with Sly and Robbie!
Musician Brinsley Forde, founder of the legendary English band Aswad, will release his first solo album. The material begins to be recorded

Musician Brinsley Forde, founder of the legendary English band Aswad, will release his first solo album. The material begins to be recorded in October this year in Kingston, Jamaica, with the revolutionary reggae producer duo: Sly Dunbar & Robbie Shakespeare. According to the singer, since leaving Aswad he had decided not to record until the time was right.
Despite this, Brinsley went on to record some tracks such as "Must I Wait", "Bubblin ́ (New Style)" and "United States of Africa". Now it's time for a more complete and planned work, with the magic touch of Sly and Robbie for the Taxi label. While this long-awaited album is not ready, one option is to enjoy the other side of Brinsley's career – that of an actor. In the 80s, he starred in the classic Babylon, by Italian director Franco Rosso, which was the first feature film to show the universe of reggae outside Jamaica.
In the film, he plays Blue, from the Ital Lion sound system, who, in addition to having to seek success, in an environment full of prejudice and lack of opportunity, also has to face a historic sound clash with Jah Shaka! For those who also enjoy action and adventure, Brinsley's other appearance is in 007 – Diamonds are Forever.
