Sly & Robbie vs Roots Radics! Argentine producer creates a historic reggae album!

Argentine musician and producer Hernan "Don Camel" Sforzini is about to complete a historic album for world reggae. The idea was to bring together the two most important backing band lines in Jamaica on a single album — Sly & Robbie and Roots Radics. These groups were responsible for recording riddims (instrumentals) and producing hundreds of artists from the island, especially in the 70s and 80s, establishing reggae as a music that did not fade away after Bob Marley's untimely death. "Sly & Robbie vs Roots Radics" was produced in Jamaica (at Tuff Gong studios) and also in Argentina (Afro Studio). The album features 12 unreleased tracks (both instrumental and with lyrics) and will be released alongside audiovisual recordings at different locations in Jamaica.

HEAVYWEIGHT LINEUP

The artist list is incredible. Sly & Robbie's team was lined up with Horace Andy, Michael Rose, The Mighty Diamonds, Lee Perry, Ken Boothe and Luciano. Roots Radics' team features Max Romeo, Freddie McGregor, The Congos, Brinsley Forde (Aswad), Toots Hibbert and Pablo Moses. Names like Steel Pulse, Culture and Groundation also contributed through some of their musicians. The release date will be announced soon and will include CD, Vinyl and Digital Platforms. Hernan has a long history of collaboration with reggae, both in production and as a musician accompanying bands in Argentina such as Steel Pulse, Groundation, Playing for Change, and also recently recording percussion on Brazilian artist Igor Salify's album.
