EXCLUSIVE: Ponto de Equilíbrio takes Brazilian Reggae to Europe! Check tour videos!

The band Ponto de Equilíbrio kindly provides Surforeggae with private behind-the-scenes images from their European tour! Reggae is a universal language, and PONTO DE EQUILÍBRIO showed the Rio accent of this style in Europe, on the recent tour where they visited Italy, Germany, Norway and Portugal, all in July. In the wake of the release of the second album "Abre a Janela", released by Warner Music in Finland, Greece, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, England and Argentina, the band formed in the neighborhood of Vila Isabel in 1999, opened work on the 8th of July in Udine, Italy, at Sunsplash Rototom, the biggest reggae festival on the continent, and the band's presentation was a huge success, gaining prominence as one of the bands 2008 no Festival's revelations of the year. Afterwards, Ponto de Equilíbrio's roots reggae headed north, where they performed in Berlin, at the Yamm house, specialized in rhythm. The crowd faced the cold in Trena, Norway, at another great music festival from around the world. Before returning home, they performed shows in the "homeland", where they already performed in 2006, with shows in Lisbon and Porto, on the 15th and 16th. POTO DE EQUILÍBRIO became one of the main references of reggae in Brazil by rescuing its roots and using music as socio-cultural resistance. The lyrics, composed by the members themselves, convey messages of equality, love and justice, in accordance with the Rastafari philosophy. Furthermore, the sound has influences from dub and samba and other rhythms such as Angolan capoeira, maculelê, salsa and maracatu.
