The Jamaican newspaper "Jamaica Observer" recently announced that the famous Reggae Sunsplash festival will be passing through other countries, including the United States and Brazil in early 2009. As possible artists to perform are already mentioned in The Wailers, Lenny Kravitz and Half Pint. One of the festival leaders is Morgan Carey, brother of pop star Mariah Carey. The Reggae Sunsplash Festival began in Jamaica in the late 1970s, under the responsibility of Synergy Productions. Names like Dennis Brown, John Holt, Burning Spear, The Gladiators, Black Uhuru, Third World, Culture, Steel Pulse, Toots and the Maytals, Freddie McGregor, Morgan Heritage, Buju Banton, Beenie Man, Elephant Man, Beres Hammond, Diana King, Maxi Priest, Wyclef Jean and UB40 have already passed through it.
