Radio Transamérica Pop from São Paulo celebrates its 34th anniversary with the biggest Reggae and Pop/Rock festival of the year. The presentations of Charlie Brown Jr., Planta & Raiz, Tihuana, Marcelo D2, Ponto de Equilíbrio, Marcelo Mira and Edu Ribeiro have already been confirmed. The Transamérica party takes place on Saturday, November 29th, at Ginásio do Palmeiras. The gates will open at 8pm. The attractions will occupy two simultaneous stages, with more than seven hours of music. The public will also see a surprise that Chorão, lead singer of Charlie Brown Jr., and Marcelo D2 are preparing especially for the occasion. Considered one of the main rock bands in Brazil, Charlie Brown Jr. presents the show of the album "Ritmo, Ritual e Responsa", released last year and which features 22 new songs. The album has just become a DVD, which hit stores at the end of October. One of the most successful national rap singers, Marcelo D2, will present the songs from his sixth album, "A Arte do Barulho", which will be released in November. Desabafo, the album's first single, is one of Rádio Transamérica's most requested songs. Marcelo D2 is also known for mixing samba with black music and for his various partnerships with artists from other genres. The Reggae program features the main national bands. Starting with Planta & Raiz, which has four albums and one DVD under its belt, in ten years on the road. The band is also known for recording new versions of great Brazilian music hits, such as "Vamos Fugir", by Gilberto Gil. Ponto de Equilíbrio recovers the roots of Reggae with lyrics that convey messages of equality, love and justice. With two albums released, the band remains independent and wins more and more fans in their performances. Transamérica's anniversary will also feature the presentation of new Brazilian music talents. Marcelo Mira is the former lead singer of the band Alma D’jem, and has just released his first solo album, "Roda Gigante". The first song, "Passos pela Rua", is having a lot of success on radio stations throughout Brazil. Edu Ribeiro, who is known for the success "Me Namora", will perform songs from his second album, "Luau". Tihuana completes the list of confirmed guests for Transamérica's birthday party. With a style that mixes several rock trends, the band became known with the success of the song "Tropa Elite", which was featured on the soundtrack of the film of the same name. According to Ruy Balla, artistic coordinator of Transamérica Pop, the station's anniversary program brings together the best names in Reggae and national Pop music. "It is very important for Transamérica to have the support of renowned names in the music scene. The public will enjoy more than seven hours of great performances, as well as a surprise prepared by Chorão and Marcelo D2".
