Reggae and Rock draw closer again! Marleys record with Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones!
Damian and Stephen Marley, sons of the King of Reggae Bob Marley, are in the studio recording with one of the biggest names in Rock n’ Roll history - Mick Jagger, of the Rolling Stones. The songs will be released on an album whose sales will go to charity. Besides the Marleys and Mick Jagger, names such as Bono Vox (U2), rapper Nas and Slumdog Millionaire are expected to take part in the CD. The recordings are being made in Hollywood, United States, and the release is scheduled for September 2009. The Rolling Stones never hid their admiration for Jamaican music, and it is worth remembering that they recorded with Peter Tosh the hit "Don’t look back" (a Mick and Peter duet), as well as tracks such as Bush Doctor and Stand Firm. At the time, the Rolling Stones led Peter Tosh to sign a contract with the Virgin label, which gave a major boost to his solo career, interrupted on September 11, 1987 after he was murdered inside his own home.
