Fergie, from Black Eyed Peas, an internationally known group, is being sued by Groundation for infringing copyright laws. "Voodoo Doll", a Fergie song that was released recently, sounds very similar to "Waterfall", a Groundation track recorded in 2000 and included on the album "Each One Teach One".
Groundation, in a statement to the press, reported: "Even before filing the lawsuit under the copyright law that protects our music, we contacted the other party involved several times to try to resolve the matter amicably, but we never even received a response.
Therefore, in order to protect our rights, we have taken a step forward and are taking the appropriate measures before the courts. Groundation's interest is only to continue creating and promoting positive and conscious music, and our focus now is on our music and on the United States Tour that is underway".
Groundation: "Waterfall"
Fergie: "Voodoo Doll"
