Jamaican rhythm is heating up again in Brazil. After welcoming names such as Gregory Isaacs, SOJA, Steel Pulse, Ranking Joe and The Congos in a short span, the country now prepares for a union of the classic and the contemporary: Israel Vibration and Groundation. These two giants will tour South America in March, sharing stages in several cities.

ISRAEL VIBRATION

Israel Vibration is led by Skelly and Wiss, who met at a rehabilitation center for children stricken with polio in the mid-1970s. The group's first recording came in 1978, yielding the album "Same Song", a must-have for any self-respecting Reggae lover. After Bob Marley's death, Israel Vibration long held the status of the world's number-one Reggae representative. Legitimate in everything they produce, Israel Vibration & Roots Radics have crafted some of the greatest Reggae albums ever released. With a contagious live performance and instrumental weight rarely matched by other Reggae groups, Israel Vibration continues to shape the world and redefine the term Roots Reggae.

GROUNDATION

Hailed as one of the three greatest powers of the new generation of World Reggae, Groundation is set to offer Brazilian fans unforgettable experiences seen only at their shows. In 2008, the group sold out nearly every venue in Brazil, Argentina and Peru and drew record crowds at major festivals. Songs such as "Freedom Taking Over", "We Free Again", "Picture on the Wall" and more recent tracks like "Here I Am" and "You can Profit" reveal the roots of a band that revolutionized how reggae is made, especially in its homeland, the United States. On their released albums, Groundation features stunning guest appearances from true Reggae legends such as Don Carlos, Apple Gabriel, The Congos, Ijahman Levy, Pablo Moses and Ras Michael, all combined with a distinctive fusion of Reggae with Jazz and R&B and Soul elements that makes Groundation's sound beloved by followers not only of Reggae but of many other musical styles. For the 2010 tour, the group already announces a series of repertoire surprises, plus songs from a new album currently in production. "Here I Am", the group's latest work, will be officially released in Brazil by the Surforeggae label, which has been bringing other great albums of Jah's rhythm to market.
