Pedro Pedrada, bassist of the band Ponto de Equilíbrio, is going through a personal drama. After being accused of trafficking, he is being treated as an outsider by a contradictory justice system, which allows the use of the herb for medicinal purposes, but bars its use with unnecessary force when the relationship with culture is involved. This is the case with culture. The Surforeggae team sends strength to friends and family and wants the obvious to be seen and analyzed: Freedom for Pedro and more knowledge and respect for religions and cultures not only from the justice system, but also from the generally sensationalist media. Check out the article published in the media about the case below, and the defense videos below.

The musician and bassist of the band Ponto de Equilíbrio, Pedro Caetano da Silva, Pedro Pedrada, aged 28, was arrested in the act in his own residence, on Rua Berta Mota Vieira, in the Engenho do Mato neighborhood, in Itaipu, Niterói, accused of drug trafficking. According to the police, the musician grew marijuana in a greenhouse in the back of his backyard. An anonymous tip led police to the scene. The information was collected by police officers from the 75th DP (Rio do Ouro) during investigation work into the “war” in Vila Candoza, in São Gonçalo, where five people died last week. Pedro did not offer any type of resistance and agreed to be taken to the police station to give a statement. According to the head of the 75th DP investigation service, Alexandre Vieira, the boy had claimed to cultivate marijuana for his own consumption, thus avoiding the need to buy the product from drug dealers. In addition to the plants, paper used to store the vegetable and an artifact known as “Maryeva's pipe”, used for consumption, were also seized. A sum of money was also found, but, according to the musician, it was the result of the band's contracts and shows. According to the police, the other members of the band would not be linked to the cultivation of the drug, but could be called as witnesses in the case. Friends and bandmates went to the police station to show solidarity with their friend. According to the police, planting marijuana constitutes a crime. Pedro was charged with drug trafficking and taken to Polinter, in Neves.
