On October 9 and 10, São Thomé das Letras will host the biggest reggae event in Minas Gerais. Major names from the scene together for two days of culture and positive consciousness — this is the Tribos Reggae Festival, a cooperative and solidarity project with free admission and 10 bands united for the life and prosperity of reggae music.

HEAVYWEIGHT NAMES
Names like Solano Jacob, Jah I Ras, Ukiemana and República Zion are strong representatives of our culture and are confirmed for Tribos Reggae Festival 2010, along with regional bands and rising names on the scene. We also count on the special participation of the Danish band Action Taken, which together with Brazilian musicians will deliver an unmissable performance of Original Roots Reggae, thus guaranteeing an international attraction for this edition of the event.TRIBOS REVELAÇÃO
In the band contest, 3 pre-selected finalists compete for the "Tribos Revelação 2010" prize, taking home the studio recording of the selected song + Full HD music video, filmed in the magical mountains of São Thomé.SCHEDULE
During the day, starting at 9 a.m., cultural workshops, presentations by groups and children's projects with support from CRAS de São Thomé (Social Assistance Reference Center), craft fair, food court, I-tal food, Rastafari art and culture exhibitions. From 5 p.m. onward, the musical program continues. All of this amid the beautiful mountains of Minas Gerais, in the exuberant landscapes of São Thomé das Letras, with its valleys and waterfalls, providing a perfect setting for the reggae theme — a family event that treats us to a spectacle with the Sunset as the backdrop of the Tribos Stage, fostering communion between creator and creation, Life and Reggae. In a partnership between the São Thomé tourism department, the Ukiemana family, Jangu produções and friends and lovers of reggae culture in Minas, Tribos Reggae Festival 2010 marks the history of Minas reggae with the best of our rich culture and comes to add to the great events that greatly contribute to the resistance and life of the style.
